A man goes on a Kafka-esque journey through the world of bureaucracy and comes out the other side with a new pencil and a new view of his strange world.
Winston Burroughs is just a regular schmuck who’s trying to do his job and stay out of trouble, he breaks his pencil and finds he must requisition a new one, but this is not as easy a task as one might think. On his way to the acquisition desk he is detoured, derided, drugged, physically abused and psychologically tormented – all for the need of a new pencil.
Pencillia is a dark, suspenseful short film which makes a social comment on the drudgery of the modern workplace and the inefficiency of an overly bureaucratic system.
